Tours are sorted based on different locations:
Six tours in Linz: L1, L2, L3, L4, L5 and L6
Two tours in Kirchschlag bei Linz: K1 and K2
Two tours in Ansfelden: A1 and A2
These tours, which are consistently easy to moderately easy in terms of required fitness level, take you to architectural landmarks, viewpoints and hidden gems in each location, often offering views across the region and far beyond! Experience and learn more about the well-known and equally exciting lesser-known places, sites and local specialities on tours led by a local, certified hiking guide! These tours are an opportunity to get in touch with the flair of the region and its people!
For individuals and groups of all types and sizes! You'll need to be fit enough to do the walks! Details (distance, vertical metres, i.e. ascents, etc.) are specified in the tour descriptions!
In addition, completely personalized tours are possible on request so that touring experiences are accessible to everyone, regardless of personal needs or physical abilities! For example, tours can be customized to individual requirements, with different highlights to see and routes that are suitable for people with physical disabilities. Tour guidance, information and interesting facts about the areas visited and the points of interest along the way. Note: These are guided tours that focus on the beauty and special features of Linz, Kirchschlag bei Linz and Ansfelden. Information provided covers local geography, landscape and general information about buildings, squares, paths and viewpoints.
The following services are not included:
Transfers to tour starting points are excluded and may require appropriate tickets from transport companies! Transfers will be arranged in agreement, starting from a meeting point, either together using public transport or separately using your own vehicle. Detailed information will be provided upon booking. Please note that there are no guided tours of buildings, museums, etc. along the route!

€20 per person for groups of 6 or more participants aged 10+, and €25 per person for groups of fewer than 6 participants aged 10+!
DISCOUNTED PRICES when booking two or more tours:
Two tours: €35 per person for groups of 6 or more participants aged 10+ and €45 per person for groups of fewer than 6 participants aged 10+!
Three tours: €45 per person for groups of 6 or more participants aged 10+, and €60 per person for groups of fewer than 6 participants aged 10+!
Smaller groups may be able to join other groups that have booked and take advantage of any price benefits offered for the entire group size.

Travelling times to tour starting points depend on desired follow-up tours and must be considered separately in terms of time, including waiting times if applicable! Tours in Linz (L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, L6) are sometimes directly connected to another tour in Linz, and most tours in Linz quickly follow each other. Please refer to the tour descriptions or inquire for more information!
Toilets are usually available at meeting points before the group departs for the tour starting points, at tour starting points, and at tour end points. On some tours, there are no toilets between the tour starting point and the tour end point.

Tour L1 – LINZ CENTRE WEST: Starting from Linz Central Square, enjoy some of the most beautiful places with views across Linz and the Danube Valley!
Starting point: Main Square, Linz – Linz Castle – New Danube Bridge – Freinberg (you can switch to Tour L2 from here) – St. Mary's Cathedral – City centre – Linz Main Square. Length: approx. 5 km, approx. 180 metres ascent to the highest point of the tour at Freinberg. Duration: approx. 2.5 hours.
Tour L2 – HIDDEN GEMS OF LINZ: This scenic tour offers various viewpoints across Linz and we explore some of the city's quiet, green corners and several places of interest!
Starting point: Freinberg (bus stop, travel together from the meeting point at Taubenmarkt using line 26) – Stupa – LASK football stadium – Botanical Garden – Linz Central Station – Linz Main Square. Length: approx. 5.5 km. Hardly any inclines! Duration: approx. 2.5–3 hours from the starting point to Linz Main Square.
Tour L3 – LINZ FROM TOP TO BOTTOM! View everything Linz has to offer from one of the best viewpoints and discover exciting places!
Starting point: Pöstlingberg stop (travel together from the meeting point at Main Square with the Pöstlingbergbahn railway, or alternatively from Mühlkreisbahnhof station with bus 150) – Pöstlingberg round walk – zoo – Anton Bruckner Private University – Old Urfahr Danube beach – Linz Main Square. Length: approx. 6 km. No climbs! Duration: approx. 2.5 hours from the starting point.
Tour L4 – LIVELY, LIVABLE LINZ! From a park via the Gründberg hill to St. Magdalena!
Starting point at Harbach tram stop (travel together by tram from the meeting point at Linz Main Square) – Heilhamer Park – Gründberg – St. Magdalena church (you can switch to Tour L5 from here) – St. Magdalena tram stop – Ride back to the centre. Length: approx. 5.5 km, approx. 130 metres vertical ascent (Gründberg and St. Magdalena Church). Duration: approx. 2.5 hours from the starting point to the St. Magdalena tram stop.
Tour L5 – TRADE ROUTE, KNOWLEDGE ROUTE, LEISURE AREAS! Nature and knowledge! Walk where the horse-drawn railway once travelled, cross the university grounds and THE Natural Museum to one of the largest green areas of Linz!
Starting point at St. Magdalena tram stop (travel together by tram from the meeting point at the Main Square) – Horse railway trail – JKU (University) – Linz Biodiversity Centre – Danube banks – Lake Plesching – Trip back to the city centre. Length: about 7 km. Hardly any inclines! Time: about 2.5 hours from the starting point to Lake Plesching.
Tour L6 – LINZ IS GREEN! A jungle in a big city? Yes, including several lakes - and we're exploring the jungle! It's an experience!
Start at the Solar City Zentrum stop (travel together by regional train from Linz Central Station and by tram to the Solar City Zentrum stop) – Solar City – Lake Kleiner Weikerlsee – Lake Großer Weikerlsee – Traun-Danube floodplains – Lake Pichlinger See – Trip back to Linz city centre by train or bus. Length: about 7 km on flat terrain. Time: about 2.5–3 hours from the starting point at Solar City Centre to Lake Pichlinger See.
Tour K1 – AMAZING PANORAMIC VIEWS! Kirchschlag, an official ‘mountaineering village’ so very close to Linz? Tour with loads of views across the whole city of Linz and all the way to the Alps!
Starting point centre of Kirchschlag (travel together by bus 260 from Linz central station) – lookout tower – Gisela lookout tower – Lichtenberg – return trip by bus and tram to Linz city centre. Length: approx. 7 km with approx. 80 metres of vertical ascent. Duration: approx. 3.5 hours from the start in Kirchschlag centre to Lichtenberg.
Tour K2 – CROSSING KIRCHSCHLAG! Beautiful views guaranteed, nature, leisure and more (observation tower, Wildberg Castle, etc.)!
Start in Glasau (group travel by bus 260, 270 or 300 from Linz Central Station) – Breitenstein – observation tower – Kirchschlag – Wildberg Castle – return trip by bus and tram to Linz city centre. Length: approx. 8 km with approx. 150 metres of ascending elevation to Kirchschlag. Duration: approx. 4 hours from the start in Glasau to Kirchschlag Riedl.
Tour A1 – CLOSE TO THE CITY AND FARMHOUSE ATMOSPHERE! Hike to Lake Pichling with a view overlooking Linz!
Start in Ansfelden (travel together by bus 611 from Linz Volksgartenstraße to Ansfelden Schulen) – centre of Ansfelden – Rohrbach – Ölkam – Pichlinger See – ride back by bus or train to the centre of Linz. Length: about 10 km with a few small rises totalling about 100 metres in altitude. Time: about 3.5–4 hours from the starting point (centre of Ansfelden) to Pichlinger See.
Tour A2 – ANSFELDEN, BRUCKNER, ST. FLORIAN ABBEY! Starting in Ansfelden, the birthplace of composer Anton Bruckner, let's enjoy the journey to St. Florian Abbey, including interactive experience stations!
Return trip by bus to the centre of Linz. Length: approx. 9 km with a few minor rises totalling approx. 100 metres in altitude! Duration: approx. 3-3.5 hours from the starting point (centre of Ansfelden) to St. Florian.
What is meant to be bad weather?
Bad weather means, for example, heavy, constant rain or strong winds, taking into account the weather forecast for the period of the event.
What's not bad weather?
Cloudy skies, damp or rain-soaked meadows and woodlands in the morning or evening or after rain, light showers or light rain, periods of light rain and rain breaks, moderate wind without rain. None of these conditions represent bad weather, although the weather forecast for the period of the event must also be taken into account.
Options in case of bad weather:
